I'm not even vegan and I loved this place. We came here for my friend's birthday as she is gluten and dairy intolerant. Two of us have zero food allergies and loved it here.
Their cocktails are amazing - obviously recommend the marg. Personally, I'm a skinny spicy marg kinda girl and the 3 I had here had me feeling juuust fine. I think my friend had something hibiscus and she threw a few back so musta been good.
I think I had fake meat tacos and they were bomb. Vegan or not, definitely bomb Mexican cuisine.
My only complaint: Kind of silly that they charge for chips and salsa. I think that's highway robbery at a Mexican spot, but what do I know.
Sure, there's dinner, but in my opinion the real (less discussed) deal is Gracias Madre's happy hour.
The happy hour menu is solid deal for (cheapish *for SF*) margaritas & a ton of smallish plates that easily make up a full meal and allow you to try a bunch of different things at once. My favorites are the nachos and chorizo quesadilla, but the great thing about happy hour is you're not limited to just one option!
The service is always stellar and the reservations are hard to make for a reason.
